Teeth Cleaning

Everybody has tartar or plaque (food debris) accumulating on their teeth. Even your own Dentist would have it. The question is what should I do if it accumulates and how do I stop it. We here at BLUE DENTAL have answers to all your questions.

What is teeth cleaning?

Teeth cleaning is a part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease.

Teeth cleaning also known as scaling, is professionally done by the dentist.

How is scaling done?
Food debris as soft deposits start accumulating on the teeth slowly, which start housing bacteria. Over a period of time the soft deposits (plaque) harden to form tartar. The hard deposits (tartar) become very difficult to remove by brushing unlike soft deposits. Therefore a professional cleaning with the help of an ULTRASONIC SCALER is done.
Does scaling damage my teeth?
The answer to this (with a 100% assurance) is NO. Scaling does not damage your teeth. It instead removes the tartar. If left untreated, it could cause bleeding of gums (gingivitis) and could also lead to bone destruction (periodontitis) resulting in the loosening of teeth.
How often should I get scaling done?
Everybody including your dentist requires a dental checkup once every 6 months. At the same time scaling is also recommended to be done once every 6 months.
AT BLUE DENTAL WE FOLLOW THE PROTOCOL OF SCALING FOLLOWED BY POLISHING.
